Check out the youtube video below to make your own almond milk from scratch! It’s so easy, I was shocked.

I cut out dairy completely in early 2011 when I was testing out veganism. I’m no longer a vegan, but I still try to keep dairy to a minimum because I don’t think it’s great for my skin (but also because I’m lactose intolerant so I sometimes regret eating it later if I overdo it, if you know what I mean… but I still cave extremely often, i.e. almost every day, because it’s so delicious! Cheeeeese, yummm).

I use soy milk and almond milk in my cereal, and I try to use it instead of milk in recipes whenever I can.

I saw this video on my favourite natural health website (www.highonhealth.com) and I really wanted to try it out. I know that the store-bought stuff has a lot of extra ingredients and I love the concept of cutting out all the extra unnecessary ingredients and processing and making something pure and fresh.

You really only need the following things:

Almonds

Water

Dates

Cheesecloth

Blender.
